Meet the International Panel of Dermatologists
MoleMap draws on the experience of an international panel of specialist dermatologists to diagnose each recorded lesion. Dermatologists have undergone a minimum of 13 years training and are experts when it comes to diagnosing early stage melanoma.
Professor Peter SoyerDr Soyer is currently professor & chair of the Dermatology Research Centre at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia. He is also director of the Dermatology Department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. Dr. Soyer is Past-President of the International Dermoscopy Society and Past-President of the International Society of Teledermatology. He is the convenor of the Third World Congress of Dermoscopy held in Brisbane in May 2012. Dr. Soyer has published numerous articles and a number of books on dermoscopy. Associate Professor Amanda OakleyDr Oakley is Clinical Director of the Department of Dermatology at Health Waikato and Clinical Associate Professor at Waikato Clinical School (Auckland University School of Medicine). Special interests include health informatics, medical education, and early diagnosis of melanoma. Amanda is website manager of the New Zealand Dermatological Society's successful website, DermNetNZ. She was also co-editor of the first textbook of teledermatology and has published numerous articles in the medical literature. Associate Professor John KellyAssoc Prof John Kelly is Head of The Victorian Melanoma Service at The Alfred in Melbourne, Victoria’s major multidisciplinary treatment service for melanoma. He also holds an appointment at Monash University in Melbourne. John undertook his Doctorate at the Melanoma Clinic, University of California, San Francisco on the subject of melanoma diagnosis and management. He maintains an active program of research in melanoma diagnosis and is the author of many published papers on the subject. Dr Martin HaskettDr Martin Haskett, in dermatology practice for more than 25 years, has special interests in the detection and treatment of skin cancer, and more recently in teledermatology. Currently he is a consultant dermatologist for the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred hospital. He has contributed to publications on the topics of dermoscopy and melanoma diagnosis and treatment. He was a Board member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists from 2006 to 2009 and currently convenes its task force on teledermatology. Dr Miller is a Dermatologist and Consultant Physician (Internal Medicine) who lives and works in North Queensland, based in Townsville. He has a keen interest in Tropical Medicine, Indigenous Health, Teledermatology and particularly early detection of Melanoma. Dr Miller has responsibilities for University teaching, clinical research in early detection of melanoma and provision of General Dermatology services from Mackay to the Torres Strait. The MoleMap system has allowed Dr Miller to bring modern and up to date melanoma detection methods to North Queensland. Dr Mark GrayDr Gray resides in Auckland, New Zealand and is a member of The American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy and Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He is one of the founders of MoleMap. His special interests include dermatologic surgery, laser surgery, cosmetic medicine and phototherapy. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. Assoc. Prof. Rademaker has been a specialist dermatologist in Hamilton since 1991. He is a consultant at Health Waikato and is an Honorary Associate Professor at Waikato Clinical School (Auckland University School of Medicine). He has published numerous articles in the medical literature and his research interests are mainly in contact dermatitis and melanoma. Dr Howard is the Head of Dermatology, in Western Hospital, Footscray and a past president of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She is also a visiting consultant to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital plus also has her own private practice. Her special interests include skin cancer, paediatric dermatology and skin disease related to internal medicine. Dr John Adams is the principal of Dermatologyplus Ltd which provides specialist dermatological services in Wellington and the Wairarapa region of New Zealand. He is also a senior consultant at the Dermatology outpatients ward of Wellington Public Hospital and a senior lecturer at the Wellington Medical School. John recently passed the International Diploma of Dermoscopy with distinction. Dr Shan EdwardsDr Edwards has her own private practice plus works in numerous hospitals including Christchurch Woman’s Hospital and Ashburton Public Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her main interests include skin cancer diagnosis and management, eczema and acne. Dr Timothy O’Brien Dr O’Brien has been a consultant dermatologist in Geelong Victoria since 1983. He is a visiting dermatologist at the Geelong Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He is a member of Health Volunteers Overseas and has been actively involved in dermatology education in Peru and Uganda. Special interests include cutaneous lymphoma and imaging techniques of skin disease. |
