Australia has the highest skin cancer rates in the world

Most Aussies love the great outdoors. Whether it’s swimming, fishing, biking, or working outside, we’re exposed to high UV levels most of the year. But this also puts us at a greater risk of skin cancer.

The good news is that you can jump in the driving seat of your skin cancer risk. At Frankston skin cancer clinic, our mole check services are designed to detect skin cancer early. You get a thorough head-to-toe skin check. Suspicious moles are imaged and sent for dermatologist review––giving you complete confidence in your diagnosis.

“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Want the security of ongoing mole monitoring?

Your questions, answered

How much is a mole check in Frankston?

The cost of a skin check at Frankston skin cancer clinic will depend on the type of service you choose. At MoleMap Frankston, our most comprehensive service is our Full Body MoleMap. This includes full body imaging and ongoing, proactive skin monitoring. It is recommended for anyone with a medium to high risk of getting melanoma. For people at low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole, we suggest having a SkinCheck (there's the option to have it with or without total body imaging). For more information on the pricing and what's included, visit our SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap pages. Don’t know your skin cancer risk? Take our quick risk quiz to find out.

What will happen during my Frankston skin cancer check?

We’ll take the time to thoroughly check your skin. The length of your appointment depends on the service you pick. A MoleMap SkinCheck usually takes around 30 minutes. A Full Body MoleMap takes around 45 minutes, as it’s our most comprehensive service. Your skin will be checked from head to toe by a melanographer and images of any moles of concern will be sent to a dermatologist for expert diagnosis. (Note: the SkinCheck doesn’t include total body photography. You can add this for $50). You’ll receive your report within a few days. If action is required, we’ll be in touch to walk you through the next steps.

Should I visit Frankston skin cancer clinic or my GP for a skin check?

Some people choose to visit their GP for a skin cancer check, providing this service is offered. Depending on the GPs skin cancer detection training, you may be referred to a Frankston skin specialist or dermatologist for further assessment. The benefit of visiting Frankston skin cancer clinic is that, unlike GPs, we specialise in skin cancer and skin cancer only. Our melanographers perform skin checks daily, making them highly experienced in knowing what to look for. Our mole checks include dermatologist diagnosis, without the need (or wait) for referral. This means you can get a swift and trusted diagnosis.
