If caught early, 90% of melanomas can be treated

The idea of spotting a suspicious mole during a skin check can be worrying. Yet, not noticing a new mole or a change to your skin is more troubling. The earlier skin cancer is detected, the higher the chance of successful treatment.

At Horsham skin cancer clinic, our melanographers perform a thorough head-to-toe mole check. Suspicious lesions are imaged and sent for dermatologist review. No referral necessary. So, you get accurate results and a trusted diagnosis faster.

“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Your questions, answered

How much is a skin check in Horsham?

At Horsham mole check clinic, the cost of our skin check services depends on whether you opt for a SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap. The Full Body MoleMap is a thorough skin assessment with full body imaging, proactive monitoring of 'potentially at risk' moles, and free spot checks for 12 months. SkinCheck is intended for people at low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole. There's the option to have it with or without full body imaging. For an overview of our services including prices and what exactly is included, see our full table of services.

What suburbs does Horsham skin clinic service?

Our friendly and compassionate staff at Horsham MoleMap welcome patients from several surrounding areas including: Haven, McKenzie Creek, Bungalally, Kalkee, Murra Warra, Wallup, Warracknabeal, Natimuk, Toolondo, Wartook, Laharum, Dadswell Bridge, Stawell, Rupanyup, Lower Norton, Murtoa and Minyip. If you’re located outside of these suburbs, see our full list of Victoria skin cancer clinics.

If I regularly check my skin, do I still need a professional mole check?

Regularly doing a self-assessment of your skin (ideally every 3 months) is a great way to spot new moles and changes to existing moles. If you notice anything of concern, contact your GP or nearest MoleMap skin clinic right away. However, at-home skin checks will only detect moles and changes visible to the naked eye. At Horsham skin cancer clinic our melanographers take dermoscopic (under the skin) images of any suspicious lesions. These are then sent for further review by an accredited dermatologist. This special and detailed process helps detect skin cancers earlier and with greater accuracy. For you, this means a shorter journey to treatment.

How long does a Horsham mole check take?

The length of your skin check appointment will depend on which service you book.
