“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Your questions, answered

What’s the cost of a Bendigo skin cancer check?

At Bendigo skin cancer clinic, the cost of our skin check services depends on whether you opt for a SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap.

The Full Body MoleMap is a thorough skin assessment with full body imaging, proactive monitoring of 'potentially at risk' and free spot checks for 12 months.

SkinCheck is intended for people at low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole. There's the option to have it with or without full body imaging. For an overview of our services including prices and what exactly is included, see our full table of services.

Does Bendigo skin cancer clinic offer treatment?

Currently, we don’t provide skin cancer treatment as part of our Bendigo skin check service. However, stay tuned. We are introducing skin cancer treatments at select MoleMap clinics as part of our commitment to our patient’s skin and general health.

How long can you have skin cancer without knowing?

Some types of skin cancers grow very slowly. This means they can go undetected for several years. Other types of skin cancer are easier to see, providing you take notice of the changes in your skin. While visual inspection may detect some skin cancers, other cancerous cells may need a biopsy for diagnosis.

Regular skin checks help ensure benign and cancerous lesions are detected early, including monitoring your levels of vitamin D. This means a greater chance of timely treatment and a better outcome.

What is my skin cancer risk?

There are many factors that can affect your individual skin cancer risk. Key factors include:

  • Family history of skin cancer
  • Previous UV damage
  • Skin type
  • The number of moles you have
