Spot skin cancer early. Seize the chance to beat it

More than 440,000 Australians are treated for skin cancer every year. The good news is that if you detect skin cancer early, the chance of a successful outcome is high.

At Mildura skin cancer clinic, you’ll get a thorough head-to-toe skin check by a melanographer. Any suspicious moles are imaged and sent for further assessment by a dermatologist. Because two sets of expert eyes ensure greater accuracy and peace of mind.

“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Your questions, answered

What services does a skin cancer clinic offer?

Most skin cancer clinics perform comprehensive skin assessments like MoleMap Mildura, biopsies, as well as skin cancer treatment. If skin cancer treatment is not provided, they can refer to an appropriate medical professional. Skin cancer clinics are typically run by GPs with a special interest and training in skin cancer detection. At MoleMap, our skin cancer clinics are run by melanographers—registered nurses with specialised training in the early detection of melanoma and other skin cancers. If a suspicious mole is spotted during a skin check or a mole check, images are sent to an accredited dermatologist for diagnosis. This helps ensure the greatest accuracy.

How much does a skin cancer check cost in Mildura?

The cost of a skin check at Mildura skin cancer clinic will depend on the type of service you choose. At MoleMap Mildura, our most comprehensive service is our Full Body MoleMap. This includes full body imaging and ongoing, proactive skin monitoring. It is recommended for anyone with a medium to high risk of getting melanoma. For people at low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole, we suggest having a SkinCheck (there's the option to have it with or without total body imaging). For more information on the pricing and what's included, visit our SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap pages. Don’t know your skin cancer risk? Take our quick risk quiz to find out.

Does MoleMap have more than one skin cancer clinic in Mildura?

No, but we do have clinics Australia-wide. Our Mildura mole check clinic services several surrounding areas, including: Mourquong, Buronga, Gol Gol, Nichols Point, Irymple, Cabarita, Birdwoodton, Dareton, Merbein, Cardross, Red Cliffs, Monak, Paringi, Wargan, Yelta, Curlwaa, Carwarp and Wenthworth. If you live outside of these suburbs, check out our full list of Victoria skin cancer clinics.

What will happen during my Mildura skin check appointment?

One of our friendly melanographers will perform a thorough head-to-toe skin check and mole check. You will need to undress down to your underwear. But don’t worry, your modesty will be protected at all times. Our caring staff will ensure your comfort. They’ll explain what's happening at every step. They’ll also advise you on the ways in which you can protect yourself against skin cancer.

Any moles of concern will be imaged and sent for expert diagnosis by a dermatologist. You’ll receive your report within 10 working days.
