In a world where skin cancer rates are alarmingly high, the partnership between MoleMap and the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation is making a meaningful difference.
This collaboration, which began in April 2023, combines the expertise of MoleMap in skin health with the Foundations mission to provide support, advocacy, and education for skin cancer patients.
The partnership between MoleMap and the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation began in early 2023 when our CEO Michelle Aquilina heard the Foundation was seeking a sponsor to help get their first skin check truck on the road. Recognising our shared commitment to skin health and awareness, Michelle reached out to the CEO and founder Jay Allen OAM to explore collaboration.
Our partnership quickly took shape, uniting our efforts to address the urgent need for proactive skin cancer management in Australia.
In our first year together, we’ve achieved significant progress. The Australian Skin Cancer Foundation truck (supported by MoleMap) has been instrumental in reaching underserved communities. Fully equipped to provide free skin checks and educational resources, it has travelled nationwide, helping people recognise the importance of regular skin monitoring and sun protection.
Since first setting out in June 2023, we have participated in 84 community events, offering over 8,000 free skin checks and valuable education. These initiatives have empowered thousands to take control of their skin health, with many expressing gratitude for the chance to identify potential issues early on.
We’re excited to share that there has been a notable increase in awareness about skin cancer, with many participants committing to regular skin checks.

Our commitment extends beyond community engagement. We are actively advocating for greater funding for skin cancer screening at both government and Medicare levels. In our submission to parliament, we highlighted the urgent need for accessible skin checks throughout Australia.
Following our submission, we have secured a place on the taskforce responsible for developing strategies to ensure that every Australian can monitor their skin health and identify potential issues early on.
